This season

In season 2025-2026 Hotel Modern will continue to play their latest performace The Fall of Granada with the Dutch/Moroccan writer and storyteller Abdelkader Benali. In September/ October ’25 and January/ February ’26 this heartfelt performance about the rise and fall of the Moorish kingdom in the south of Spain can be seen throughout The Netherlands and Belgium.

On 24, 25 and 26 September 2025 we are happy to be invited for the Pôle International de la Marionnette festival in Charleville-Mezieres in the North of France to perform Kamp.

On 11 and 12 October we will perform Shrimp Tales on the FIMP festival in Porto, Portugal.

In november we’ll head to the United States to perform the Great War for two evenings in Blacksburg, Virginia.

From 5 tot 21 december 2025 Hotel Modern can be seen at the International Theater Amsterdam in the heart of the Dutch capital. Together with 11 actors from the ensemble of ITA we create the world of Primeval and Other Times in models and live on several video screens. The result is an impressive living painting that does justice to the layered world of Nobel laureate Olga Tokarczuk’s novel. Directed by Guy Cassiers.

In April and May 2026 our gripping performance Kamp will be staged again in some theaters in the Netherlands. As usual we will perform Kamp on May 4 in Theater Rotterdam on our National Memorial Day.

In season 2024-2025 Hotel Modern will play Shrimp Tales in september on The Murf/Murw festival in Tilburg. This kaleidoscopic portrait of human behaviour can also be seen in our homebase Theater Rotterdam in the last days of 2024 ánd on a festival in Antwerp (Belgium).

On 6 March 2025 we will have the opening night of our brand new performance in Theater Rotterdam. From there we will directly take it on tour through The Netherlands till the end of april. This performance is still under construction, we’ll keep the details a secret for a little while longer.

In April and May 2025 our gripping performance Kamp will be staged again in some theaters in the Netherlands. As usual we will perform Kamp on May 4 in Theater Rotterdam on our National Memorial Day.
